Rescued Arabians in Need

The Animal Rescue League (ARL) of Iowa and Hooves and Paws Rescue in Glenwood partnered to remove 39 sick and badly neglected horses from a property in Glidden, Iowa in rural Carroll County.  The horses were relocated to multiple rescue groups and foster homes in Iowa and Nebraska.

Eight of these horses are now being cared for by the ARL in Des Moines, where they will finally receive badly needed vet care, food and shelter.  Four of these horses are Arabians.  According to Tom Colvin, Executive Director for the Animal Rescue League, "these horses had been living without food, shelter and veterinary care for an undetermined amount of time."

Judy Hand at the ARL contacted the Iowa Arabian Horse Association hoping the club could assist in getting the word out about these four horses and the need for placement homes.  If you know anyone that might be able to give one or more of these Arabians a good home, please contact Judy at (515) 473-9112 or jhand@arl-iowa.org.
