IaAHA Scholarship Program
Each year, the Iowa Arabian Horse Association offers club level scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors and continuing education members. Scholarship recipients are announced each year at the Iowa Fall Society Horse Extravaganza.
Graduating Senior - $1,500
Continuing Eduction - $1,500
Scholarship Requirements:
Applicants must be members in good standing of the Iowa Arabian Horse Association. High school seniors must be graduating in the current year of application, and continuing education students (any age) must be actively working toward a degree at a two- or four-year institution.

Volunteerism in the backbone of the Arabian horse industry. How has volunteerism shaped your experience with the Arabian horse and how can we ensure volunteerism positively influences future Arabian horse enthusiasts?
Expectations and Critiquing Criteria

A short autobiography describing your interests, hobbies, and future educational goals. (5%)

Describe your participation in the Iowa Arabian Horse Association. Please include everything. Do not limit yourself to just showing. (25%)

Describe your equine involvement. Do not limit yourself to just showing. (20%)

Essay should be 500-1000 words. You may include original artwork, drawings, photography, poetry, etc. to enhance the presentation. (50%)

The essay will be critiqued on the following:

Grammar and Mechanics (25%)

Creativity (25%)

Essay Content (50%)
Essays will be critiqued by someone in the field of education and the scholarship committee. The scholarship committee will make the final selection after reviewing all applications and the critiqued essays.
Please note: ALL CRITERIA must be fulfilled in order to be considered for the scholarship/award. If no application meets all criteria, no scholarship will be awarded.
